James was born in 1951 and grew up in Ealing. He worked as a laser engineer in Rugby before a spell in theological college (or 'vicar factory') and then on to be a curate for 4 years in Coventry. 12 years as vicar of Rye Park, Hoddesdon followed, before he came to Colney Heath in 2001. James and Steph celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary in 2004, had 5 grandchildren at the last count, and in 2007 saw the last of their four children married.. Why the change from engineer to vicar? You'd better ask him, but be prepared for a long story... James works from the Vicarage. If you'd like to see him personally, he'd greatly appreciate you contacting him to make an appointment beforehand. Contrary to popular opinion, he doesn't twiddle his thumbs Monday - Saturday! |
